Grief is where love meets loss. A powerful concept. Thanks

So beautiful Maura. I especially loved the paragraph where you explained that love is why this hurts ❤️‍🩹 I compiled a few journal prompts for collective grief that you might find helpful too: https://open.substack.com/pub/alisonzamora/p/here-with-you-again

Thank you for the reminders and suggestions on how to combat our insatiable need to know everything. There's nothing one can do to change some of the ills of this world. Our diving into grief and mourning cannot change the plight of someone in Iran, Africa, etc. Sure, we can demand action and change leadership involved in their aid, but more quickly and more rewarding is our participation locally. Nothing is more helpful to the attitude of oneself than helping those in need in our own backyard. Always time well spent...and it keeps you away from algorithms the impact your life. I will be carrying that phrase “bloom where you are planted” with me today. Thank you!

We can do plenty about the plight of people in Iran and Africa. Vote! Vote wisely! Observe political action and what funding has been cut (USAID) and where the funding has been put (defense and national guard).

Thank you. I need to do some serious soul searching and recalibrating.

Thanks, Maura. I just read this (way behind on my email!). And it really helped affirm what I was feeling yesterday. It can be tricky to find the balance between being informed, acting on that information, and nourishing strong family/friend time. I'm reading a book Meg gave me: The Lightmaker's Manifesto by Karen Walrond. I think you might like it =)

I'll add it to my list! Thanks.

This was really eye opening. Thank you for helping me make sense of what I've been feeling. Almost like I'm in a permanent fog.
